Days Creek Charter School Wellness Plan
In April, of 2024, the Days Creek Charter School called together a committee of staff responsible for nutrition and wellness education of students. The aim of this group was to design a comprehensive school wellness plan that is fully aligned with the WellSAT evaluation tool and meets the needs of students, staff and community expectations. The newly formed Wellness Committee carefully examined the results of the spring WellSAT evaluation. In that review it was determined that a district wellness plan would incorporate the voices of our head cook, vice-principals, superintendent, a K-5 teacher, the health teacher and the DC Fit Coordinator. An itemized plan was drafted that directly correlates with each of the items from the WellSAT, and goals or progress will be stated next to each item. Each of those items will also have a specific staff member designated responsible for ensuring progress on that item.
Building administration will review that spring of 2024 WellSAT results and compare it to our existing district policy EFA-Wellness Program, to ensure alignment between this group and the desires of the community. This initial plan was drafted April 17th and made available to public on our district website.
